Second JPI Oceans Vice-Chair elected - Corinne Muscat Terribile from Malta

Corinne Muscat Terribile was appointed by the JPI Oceans Management Board as the second vice-chair for a term of three years alongside vice-chair Joachim Harms and the Chair of the Management Board Arvid Hallèn.
Corinne is a pharmacist by education and garnered a lot of experiences in R&D funding programmes and project management. She also acts as a facilitator in securing international collaborations with Malta and implementing new research funding opportunities for stakeholders coming from the academic, public and private sector.

The representation in the Management Board of JPI Oceans was one of Corinne’s main tasks when she started working at the Malta Council for Science and Technology (MCST). From the beginning she was eager to put forward the developments and actions within JPI Oceans back to her country to get Malta more and more involved in JPI Oceans.

“Malta has a strong research community in the field of marine science and the JPI Oceans platform will help to internationalize their expertise and facilitate international research collaborations in this field.” emphasized Corinne Muscat Terribile at the 20th JPI Oceans Management Board meeting.

With Corinne as second vice-chair, JPI Oceans will have a good diverse representation amongst the JPI Oceans member countries, not only from a geographical perspective but also in relation to the specific needs and priorities that smaller JPI Oceans member countries face.
