JPI Oceans maturity to be assessed by European Commission
Rudy Herman and Kathrine Angell-Hansen, Co-Chair and Director of the JPI Oceans secretariat, handed over a comprehensive dossier on the Joint Programming Initiative on Healthy and Productive Seas and Oceans to the European Commission on April 19th. The dossier has been endorsed by the Interim Management Board.
Interim Management Board to meet 6 April
In the meeting of the Interim Management Board on 6 April we expect to have 16 countries represented around the table, together with European Commission representatives and the BONUS EEIG who are both observes to the process.
3rd meeting of the JPI OCEANS Task Force
The third meeting of the task force of the joint programming initiative “Healthy and Productive Seas and Oceans” (JPI Oceans) took place in Brussels on 21 January 2011.
Maritime Spatial Planning
The Commission has recently published a Communication on Maritime Spatial Planning (MSP). MSP provides a means to sustainable growth across sectors and sea basins and provide a higher degree of predictability.
