BlueBio is organising a foresight process to develop the future European Strategic Knowledge and Innovation agenda within the blue bioeconomy in 2022. Representative stakeholders from the blue bioeconomy and all links of the value chain, have been invited by the facilitators Luc van Hoof and Sarah Smith from EFARO.
The goal is to identify new, and improve existing ways of bringing bio-based products and services to the market and find new ways of creating value from the blue bioeconomy.
This process is organised by the Blue Bioeconomy COFUND which establishes a coordinated R&D funding scheme that will strengthen Europe’s position in the blue bioeconomy. The process will be facilitated by EFARO, the organisation of European Fisheries and Aquaculture Research Organisations, uniting Europe wide the Directors of Fisheries and Aquaculture Research Institutes (EFARO.EU). EFARO facilitated similar processes resulting in the FEUFAR (2007) and COFASP (2014) foresight exercises in the field of fisheries, aquaculture and seafood processing.
The final workshop will be in-person on 22-23 November.
