The projects are coming in the wake of a JPI Oceans call establishing a unique collaboration between Belgium, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Poland, Romania and Spain together with BANOS, BlueMed, NOAA and the UN Ocean Decade.

The All-Atlantic Ocean Research Alliance is the result of science diplomacy efforts involving countries from both sides of the Atlantic Ocean, aiming at enhancing marine research and innovation cooperation across the Atlantic anywhere between the Arctic and Antarctica.
The European Ocean Observing System (EOOS) is a coordinating framework for European in-situ ocean observing. EOOS brings together Europe’s diverse ocean observing communities to promote collaboration, strengthen coordination and integration, and promote sustainability in ocean observing in Europe.
