Kelly Diaz is a biologist with an MSc in Marine and Lacustrine Science and Management from Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Currently an intern at JPI Oceans, she focuses on the Joint Action Ecological Aspects of Microplastics. Previously, Kelly participated in sustainable fisheries projects at Pro Delphinus in Peru, where she actively engaged with artisanal fishermen communities and contributed to in-field studies on diverse aquatic species. Kelly has also worked as a consultant and an interpreter for companies in Peru's fisheries and aquaculture sectors, enhancing communication and collaboration. Engaging in project planning, data management, and public outreach, she developed a well-rounded approach to marine science and conservation.
