Five JPI Oceans Underwater Noise Projects kick off their activities in Brussels

JPI Oceans was pleased to announce the successful kick-off meeting of its five innovative projects, focused on the effects of noise pollution on marine ecosystems and the development of innovative seismic sources as quieter and effective alternatives to conventional marine geophysical exploration.

The innovative projects are coming in the wake of a JPI Oceans call establishing a unique collaboration between Belgium, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Poland, Romania and Spain together with BANOS, BlueMed, NOAA and the UN Ocean Decade.

In response to the call which brought together up to €8.2 million, thirteen project proposals involving partners from all eight participating countries were received.

Belgium, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Poland, Romania and Spain under the framework of JPI Oceans and together with BANOS, BlueMed, NOAA and the UN Ocean Decade, are pleased to launch this call, with a deadline for proposals on 28 February 2022.
