Science is Wonderful – and the Ocean is too!

The annual science fair organised by the European Commission, Science is Wonderful, kicked off with a burst of energy at the Egg in Brussels. The two-day event celebrating the best of European science drew thousands of visitors, including students, families, and other science enthusiasts. JPI Oceans supported the European Coalition for Ocean Education and Literacy (EU4Ocean) with its interactive workshops.

The Conference we attended for the Decade we need

The 2024 Ocean Decade Conference brought together the global Ocean Decade community from 8-12 April in Barcelona to celebrate achievements and set joint priorities for the remainder of the Decade. JPI Oceans contributed actively to the Conference and to ‘delivering the science we need for the ocean we want,’ as a co-organiser in three of the Conference’s satellite events.

Hybrid JPI Oceans Board meetings shine a light on a bright and busy future

The JPI Oceans Secretariat hosted the 31st Management Board and the 16th AISBL General Assembly meeting on 16-17 April 2024. Notwithstanding the hybrid format, the meeting saw plenty of fruitful discussions and clear decisions, related to JPI Oceans’ strategy, our governance, and our research and innovation foci through our many Joint Actions and Strategic Engagements.
